Big Milly’s
What else is there to do during your stay here? Apart from swimming, surfing, table tennis, snooker, and reading, you can go hiking over the surrounding hills. You can take a guided canoe trip through the wetlands of the Densu Delta, 4km away, where a recent visitor saw 70 different bird species in a 3-hour journey. You can relax with our professional masseuse Jirina, or just chill in a hammock with a book from our library.

Kokrobrite is famed as a drumming centre. You can learn to drum for approx.$15.00 per hour and even buy your own drum for around $50.00. About 5 mins walk away is Master Okoe, ( okoekpanlogo@yahoo.co.uk ) an important member of the Academy of African Music and Arts (AMAA) in Kokrobite as featured in the Independent on Sunday newspaper (click here to see the full article and for details of when is the best time to visit.) He is a skilled, patient and friendly drummer and cultural dance teacher who will pull rhythm out of you, no matter how deeply it is buried! You can also learn balafon, batik and other African arts all in or around the garden.
Big Milly’s is situated on the beach in Kokrobite fishing village about 25 km west of Accra and one hours drive from Kotoka International Airport.
To get a taxi to/from the city centre will cost you from GHc50-80.
A taxi from Kotoka International Airport should cost around GHc160.00-GHc180.00 depending on your bargaining skills. Big Milly’s can arrange for a local taxi to collect you for GHc120.00 with a friendly driver known to us. For this, Big Milly’s need your flight details please. You will find the driver holding up a board with your name on it as you exit customs. The advantage is they know their way home!! And you can pay the following day in any currency. All the money goes to the driver.
You can get a tro-tro from Dansoman Station in Kaneshie that will take you to Kokrobite for GHc2.50. Ensure you alight at their last stop then follow the signs to Big Millys Backyard heading down to the beach.
If you have your own transport travel west towards Kasua. Take the Aplaku junction, known as the Old Barrier, about 15km out of Accra. It is then 10km to Kokrobite, the fourth village.

Bar & Music
Our bar is open 24 hours though you may have to wake the barman if its very late. We serve ice cold beers, spirits and fresh fruit juices. Guests ask why we add sugar to our pineapple juice. We dont, its just the natural sweetness of our Cape Coast pineapples.

In the daytime relax in a hammock with a mouth watering mango shake then in the evening try a pre-dinner cocktail, Margarita, Banana Daquiri or Rum Punch.

Beers priced from GHc5.00
Fruit Juices from GHc5.00

Music Nights
If you have something to celebrate this is the perfect setting for your party. From Monday to Friday Big Millys is incredibly laid back and peaceful but on Friday and Saturday nights the garden comes alive. Every Friday we have a Bonfire and Barbecue on the beach with a live Cultural group of excellent drummers and dancers. The atmosphere is brilliant. On Saturday nights we dance beneath the coconut trees to a reggae or a highlife band. Everyone has fun. If you are eating with us there is no charge for the entertainment. Those not eating pay GHc5.00
